Meeting at Kyiv School of Photography

On December 11, 2019, Nikon Ambassador Viktor Lyagushkin met his fans at the Kiev School of Photography. The photographer told the audience about the progress of the project Until The Ice Melts, including the world’s first exhibition under the ice, showed videos and photographs taken during the project.
The pre-holiday situation in the city set Viktor in a cheerful mood, so the lecturer decided to appear in front of the audience, leaving the telephone box in the corner of the photo studio, as famous Doctor Who.

Presentation of the Calendar 2020

On November 15, there was a presentation of our Сalendar 2020 with photographs by Viktor Lyagushkin in the cafe “Our Circle”. It sounds very formal, but in fact it was a very chamber, almost family event.

Viktor told the guests about underwater animals that inhabit the White Sea, paid special attention to those whose photos were included in the Calendar. Bogdana Vashchenko spoke about climate change in the Russian Arctic and the impact of the change on the lives of animals and people.

In total, 22 works from the White Sea cycle are presented at the exhibition, showing how marine life lives under ice. The exhibition runs until January 20, 2020.

Exhibition Impossible is Possible in Troitsk, Moscow, Russia

Yesterday, November 4, our exhibition “Impossible Is Possible” opened in the House of Scientists in the town of Troitsk near Moscow. It shows photos from various projects: #Seagull, Genie Jar, Being a Dolphin, Princess of Whales. In total, 18 works of 60x90cm are presented.

The exposition aroused keen interest. Photographers who came to the opening were interested in how the images were taken, which cameras and lenses were used, and asked a lot of questions about the physics and technology of underwater shooting.

The exhibition takes place as part of the All-Russian tour of the Photoparade in Uglich and will last until November 14.

Viktor Lyagushkin & Seventeen Strobes

October 4, Moscow hosted the presentation of the sixth issue of Yevgeny Feldman’s slick magazine  Svoy, which was completely dedicated to Viktor Lyagushkin’s art. Photos and stories “from caves and seas” on the pages of the new issue, and even more remarkable stories by Viktor during the presentation captivated the audience.

Moscow Dive Show 2019

This year PHOTOTEAM.PRO took part in the Moscow Dive Show 2019 with the exhibition “Until the Ice Melts.”

The pictures presented on it are not the complete exposition, but only a part of the world’s first photographic exhibition under the ice. This is not an exaggeration and not a metaphor – from Moscow the works by Viktor Lyagushkin will go to the Arctic Circle and will be put under the thick ice sheet of the White Sea.

Under the Ice exhibition is part of a large project to document the animals of the White Sea in their natural environment named Fantastic Creatures and Where to Find Them.

On the final day of the Dive Show, Viktor Lagushkin delivered a lecture on the main stage of the event, speaking in detail about the project. “We live at a time when climate change and the melting of the Arctic ice become increasingly threatening phenomena, – says the photographer, – My goal is to draw public attention to these problems, and capture the amazing creatures of the White Sea while they still exist.”

The general sponsor of the Under the Ice exhibition is Nikon, partner – the Dive Centre Arctic Circle.
